About Power Kids

The Lagos Power Kids Program is an initiative of the Lagos State Government as part of the Power sector development plan to help improve energy efficiency and conservation practice amongst its citizens.

Lagos State Electricity Board is the organization responsible for helping Lagos State achieve this objective in collaboration with the EKO Project.

powerkidsThe Lagos Power Kids Program (LAPK) is one of the youth energy development initiatives of the Lagos State Government administered by Lagos State Electricity Board (LSEB). The program has been running successfully over the last 2 years and has trained over 1,600 students.

The theme for the Program this year is a ‘RENEWABLE ENERGY (SOLAR) BOOT CAMP’ to be held over a 2-week period from Monday 1st June 2015 to Friday 12th June 2015. The top 50 Junior and Senior secondary schools from the Governor’s Education Award 2014 and which are also a part of the Lagos Solar Schools project have been chosen to participate in the interactive and engaging boot camp.

This will take the total number of students who have gone through the Program to 2,600.
